Oh The Baby Smells!
Are you a fan of puppy breath? You know, the newborn puppy breath? I am. A big fan! And I am equally a fan of stinky babies! You know, that sweet smell that can only be found in a sour baby's neck! I love it! And like puppy breath, there is such a fleeting window of time where you get to enjoy that aroma. There's nothing else like it in the world. Except for maybe when your toddler climbs into your bed sweaty from sleep. There are, in my opinion, few things in the world that are as sweet smelling as a breast fed baby's neck or a the sleepy scent of a toddler's hair! I'll take my stinky necked baby over a fresh-from-the-tub baby smelling of shampoo any day! I hold him to me and inhale deeply! Just one of the joys of this surprise baby is that I get to enjoy, relish, that sweet delicious baby smell again!

I had forgotten how addictive Hannah's scent was as a baby/toddler. She smelled delicious. I was sniffing her all the time.
It was weird to me that she smelled different after her open heart surgery at 2.5 years. I guess her intoxicating effect had something to do with her lower oxygen levels, or maybe my years of fears waiting for the surgery to be over made me make memories using every sense I had.
Stinkerie has a nice French flair to it. So cosmopolitan, that Snakester!
