Leaps & Bounds
Okay, so Jack isn't crawling yet, and he's not even sitting up on his own yet. He will get there. Yesterday during both PT and OT, he pedalled his little hands forward while first Jean, and then Beth moved his knees forward in the quadriped position. It's a start! Today during Baby Class, he let go and put in three times! Three times! What a huge thing that was not only for his Mommy but also for Miss Em's Mom and Beth! Who knew such a little thing would make me so proud?! Today during vision therapy, he sat on our soft couch for full minutes without falling over! He was sitting nice and tall for Laurie, and I don't know if you can tell from the photos, but he isn't being supported by the back cushions. Maybe his little round butt just fits the couch perfectly so that he can correct and maintain his own balance! A few times he had his hands on his little knees, and when he started leaning to the right, he'd push his right arm down on his right knee and correct the motion...same thing when he veered off to the left! My theory is that his arms are just too short to do the traditional supported sit!
